The meeting called to order by Barbara Carroll, Chair, at 6:06 p.m.

A. Rollcall/Attendance by William Bixby

12 Present 3 Absent 1 Vacancy

B. Approval of Agenda

Motion to accept agenda made by Robert Spirito, seconded by Catherine Gootkin; unanimous approval.

C. Approval of Minutes

A motion was made by Robert Spirito and seconded by Maureen O'Sullivan to accept the February 14th & March 13th, 2008 minutes with the provision that thesection noting Wayne Hobbs swearing in be reflected in the March minutes rather than February. Also, in the March minutes under "Unfinished Business", it should be added that "The February meeting minutes will be voted on at the April meeting." There was one in abstentia - Shirley Wayne Washington.

D. Coordinator's Report

Motion to accept the CRB Coordinator’s Report was made by Evelise Ribeiro, seconded by Juanita Wright; approved unanimously.

E. IVE Remarks

Captain Peterson reported; went into Executive Session.

F. Open Floor

There were no questions or comments. There were no guests other than three Internal Values and Ethics personnel and Roderick Williams, Assistant Corporation Counsel.

G. Subcommittee Reports

Barbara Carroll reported.

Maureen O'Sullivan reported.

Robert Spirito reported.

Shirley Wayne Washington gave a report on NACOLE.

Evelise Ribeiro gave Board of Police Commissioners update.

Ann Tramontana reported that the By Laws Committee would be meeting in the very near future at a date and time to be determined.


H. Unfinished Business

The Civilian Review Board meeting start time is 6:00 p.m.

The Citizens' Academy applications were distributed.

Training files are still in circulation and will be continued at the May meeting.

I. New Business

Barbara Carroll initiated a discussion on a committee for public awareness. There were no decisions as to committee members or the next best course of action.

Robert Spirito moved for Executive Session at 6:40 p.m.; seconded by Catherine Gootkin; approved unanimously.

Evelise Ribeiro moved to come out of Executive Session; seconded by Robert Spirito at 7:55 p.m.

Motion to adjourn made by Evelise Ribeiro; seconded by Katherine Smith-Bogan, approved unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 8:05 p.m.

The next regular monthly meeting of the Civilian Review Board is scheduled for Thursday, May 8, 2008, at City Hall, 165 Church Street, Second Floor, Meeting Room 2, at 6:00 p.m.
